"A WOUND IN TIME" SLATED FOR OPEN RUN THIS FALL

Very excited to remount this play, much favored by all who saw it during it's run 2 years ago at the legendary Nuyorican Poets Cafe.  It is a very intense drama filled with lots of laughs, and of course, tackles social issues.  Regla de Ocha, also known  as Santeria, is a misunderstood African traditional religion retained by enslaved Africans in Cuba.  This play sheds light on and dispels some of the myths and misconceptions in a mystery/thriller.  Set in 1993 (to coincide with the Supreme Court ruling recognizing it as a religion) in Spanish Harlem, it shows a day in the life of practitioners of the religion, and tackles such social issues as religious persecution, bullying, classism, racism, homophobia, etc.  I really love the story and hoping this production continues to find others who feel the same.

Finally uploaded sides for actors who submitted.  I'll have group auditions next month (tba).  Excited to have a run Off Broadway.  If dates are available looking at October previews!

"A WOUND IN TIME" MAY BE BACK FOR AN OPEN RUN!

So many folks who have seen the first production of AWIT have been hoping for its return.  So I have been thinking that instead of just doing a few shows to film for DVD, maybe have an open run with one show a week Off Broadway.  Stay tuned...

My gurl Ella Joyce is at it again with another TV series.  She stars as "Gladys" in the new show "Belles" coming this Fall.  So happy for her.  She is a true Artist and activist and hasn't changed in all these years.  She was the original Iya Carmen in the staged reading of "A Wound In Time" over 20 years ago...
